Nature Notes

We had a beautiful butterfly in our yard yesterday.  It was hovering around for a very long time and did not appear scared of us at all.
We think it was an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly.
Here are some pictures and a link to a web-site that describes what it looks like and some professional photographs.
What do you think it is?

Nature Notes

The baby robins learned to fly a couple of days ago and took off together!  It was amazing to watch.  Now the birds' nest is empty.  I will bring it into the classroom so you can all see it, if you would like.

My daughter found this animal on top of our driveway the other day:

What do you think it is: a groundhog or a beaver?
