Hi everyone,
It was great meeting with so many of you at the school this week! If you did not make it, don't worry. We will have plenty of opportunities to meet and chat later on.
As promised, here is a link to the lunch menu provided at ABS for the first week of school and the month of September. Please consider previewing this every day with your child so he/she feels prepared knowing what the lunch choices are. In addition to the choices provided on this menu, our students can always choose a sunbutter/jelly, ham or turkey sandwich as well as a salad. For a first grader, these choices can feel overwhelming, so please consider supporting your child in making healthy and "just right" choices for them. Thank you! I will send home a paper copy in your child's Home Folder on Friday this week so you can hang it at home too.
I also wanted to remind you that we will be going outside every morning and afternoon the first few weeks of school. Please consider keeping an extra set of jackets and shoes (sneakers or rain boots) at school so your child can explore the outdoors fully and then switch into indoor shoes. This, of course, is not necessary, but I wanted everyone to know it is an option since your child will have access to a locker this year. If your family needs assistance in acquiring additional clothing (or any other school-related materials), please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
