Celebrating Reading together

The students and I started discussing what good readers do as they explore new books together. We talked about the importance of finding a quiet and restful space to read because reading requires thinking. We practiced together by going outside, quietly reading our new books together in the shade. Here is a picture. Do you ever read outside at home too? Perhaps you have another favorite place to read?
