Dear Families,
We are getting ready for Reading Restaurant on our team! It is so exciting to see the kids' excitement and anticipation for this wonderful celebration of their work this entire school year. We have voted on a restaurant name and we are "The Viney Canopy Cafe." You will see our classroom decorated with vines, animals hanging from vines and the children decorated in vines as they "work" in our restaurant. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday night. The first seating starts at 6pm, promptly and ends at 6:40pm, promptly, so we can transition to the next group, which seats at 6:50pm and lasts until 7:30pm. Let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you.
Today's "crafter-noon" was a huge success! Thank you parents for helping out. I really appreciate your time and assistance during this very busy time of the year, because with your help, the children can participate in the more creative crafts in a meaningful way. They have created all of our designs and they helped assemble our accessories today. WOW!
Next week, Team Harmony will go to the Flynn Theater on Monday. The bus leaves around 8:30am and we will return around 11:30. Dismissal is still the same at the end of the day.
The end of the school year also means a lot of end-of-the-year assessing. This, unfortunately, means that I will have a sub so I can assess all the students. I want to thank you all for your concern and support during the last month as I have battled, first the flu, and then pneumonia, which kept coming back. Thank you. I do not like to be out of the classroom, but the children overall did a great job adjusting to unexpected changes in the schedules as I was told to stay home by my doctor. Once again, thank you!
Have a great weekend!
best,
Maria
