I just emailed an attached document to you so you have access to our various digital links, passwords and usernames this summer.
Your child will also come home with a Reading Game for the summer. See the directions below (I will also send these directions along with the actual reading game):
This game is voluntary, but I hope you will help
support your child in this literary endeavor over the summer.
Since
summer is upon us, I had to change the rules of the game a little. When your child reaches the squares with the
star in it, rather than telling the teacher, or librarian, in person, tell me
on KidBlog in a new post, or in an email.
I would like for mom or dad to sign off as well as there are prizes
along the way. When the entire Reading
Game has been completed, tell me on KidBlog, or in an email. In addition, have
your parents sign it, and hand it in to me when school resumes again for a
special surprise! I understand that it
is trickier for our current 2nd graders to stop by, so if you could
help your child take a picture of the completed game board and upload it on
KidBlog, or attach in an email, your child will still get the special surprise
at the end.
To
play the game, your child will follow the reading game path from start to
end. Since the game board is laminated,
it is a little easier to use stickers for each completed square rather than
coloring them in.
Good
Luck and Happy Reading!
Mrs.
McCormack
