Family Newsletter

Dear Families,
This will be a brief update on what is going on in our classroom because I already met with many of you last week and I will meet with some of you next week.  Thank you all for taking the time to come in to hear about the amazing progress your child is making here at ABS.  As always, thank you for supporting our learning at home and bridging the gap between school and the home.  I particularly love hearing about how your child is making daily connections to our learning at home.  That's what it is all about-making connections!

Science:
We continued working on various science projects last week.  For example, the students created their Vermont animals using salt dough.  They also painted them and started working on their three-dimensional representations of their respective habitats.  They are amazing and we look forward to sharing them with you shortly!

Technology:
This week, the students continued working on their google slides.  They are getting so confident and self-sufficient using technology.  I am really proud of their hard work, interest and stamina when it comes to computers!  WOW.  The students learned how to insert pictures into their slideshows, navigating between multiple tabs, google classroom, slides and pixabay.  If you want a sneak-peek at their slides, or anything else we have done so far in google, please know that you can access everything through gmail.  Your child logs on with firstnamelastname@cvsdvt.org  Your child knows his/her secret password.

PE and Special event:
The students in first and second grade are studying gymnastics now in PE and on Wednesday they had a special visit from Ms. Jess.  She is an accomplished gymnast and she showed the students some of the special events.  WOW! What a treat!  What a talent she is!  Thank you, Ms Jess.
