Dear Families,
We had an amazing day together back at ABS! It was busy, hot and it went by quickly! We were so lucky that the weather held up and that we could have outdoor recess.
Today, the students participated in many different exploratory activities together in our classroom. They also did a classroom scavenger hunt with their new buddy. In the beginning of the school year, I partner up a second grader with a new first grader so they have a special friend to play with and someone extra to go to if needed.
We also had lunch and recess together.
We ended the day by reading the book "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn. We discussed different feeling we all had today and created a class chart; then, the students worked on their own pictures.
We also had time for a sing-along. We accessed songs from my wiki, linked here Our favorite song today was "Don't give up on me" by Andy Grammar..
I hope your child came home happy, but tired today! Get plenty of sleep and I will see them all back here again tomorrow.
Best,
Maria
