Science

We use our Science Journals each week. Throughout our study of insects and bugs the students have observed and written about our caterpillars, chrysalises and butterflies! We have l;earned that scientisits use labels and detailed sketches to add information to their words. The words the scientists choose are objective-that means that scientists do not use their own judgement and subjective feelings and believes when they describe an item or object. Today, the students carefully observed the difference between store-bought grapes and grapes grown at home (in my garden). Not only did the students use their senses to look and feel the difference between the two kinds of grapes; they also tasted the difference. Guess what they discovered? They discovered that home-grown grapes are much smaller, have very hard skins, seeds and are very sour. Ask your child to explain more.
